This is a place where users can communicate with administrators, or administrators with one another. You can report vandalism, problematic users, or anything else that needs an administrator's intervention. Do not report child pornography or other potentially illegal content here; e-mail legal-reports@wikimedia.org instead. If reporting threatened harm to self or others also email emergency@wikimedia.org.

Report users for clear cases of vandalism. Block requests for any other reason should be reported to the blocks and protections noticeboard.


Report disputes with users that require administrator assistance. Further steps are listed at resolve disputes.


Reports that do not suit the vandalism noticeboard may be reported here. Requests for page protection/unprotection could also be requested here.


Other reports that require administrator assistance which do not fit in any of the previous three noticeboards may be reported here. Requests for history merging or splitting should be filed at COM:HMS.

@Taivo: I see five instances of "Warning: Wikimedia Commons takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing." on User talk:Dayyousnbashid. At this point, this particular user is blocked, because their last response suggests strongly that they don't understand thing one about copyright.
But, yes, I think it is a problem when someone might be well-intentioned, is clueless, and all we give them are templated generic warnings. Many people who can be reached by a more targeted message will blow right past something that looks that generic. - Jmabel ! talk 19:41, 17 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
This is especially the case when people probably don't read much English; linking them to relevant materials in their own language is important. And, yes, there is an Arabic variant of the warning, but it sends people to COM:Copyright_rules/ar. Have a look at that page and consider exactly how useful it would be to an Arabic-speaker who does not know English. - Jmabel ! talk 19:52, 17 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Yann: No license since 8 April 2025, deleted by Krd on the 16th, uploaded since your block 09:51, 4 December 2024 (UTC). It was deleted for having no license, but there actually was a license. It is the same for all files. And certainly File:KIt socks smt2025h.png and others are too simple too have a copyright.
